Gin is a French favorite!

The French Spirits Federation (FFS) reported a 17.6% increase in gin consumption in 2017. Both for exclusive luxury brands and more common brands.

At this time of the year, the alcohol sector is divided into several sectors in which different types of alcohol are booming, and we have already mentioned how cognac is projected to be the most popular of the year, at least for France’s exports. Gin nevertheless boasts of a never ending success worldwide.

For France, gin has become increasingly popular in recent years. Unlike in the 1960s, 1980s and 2000s, when many low-quality gins were produced. Today the spirit is one of the French favorites.

A wide variety of gin on the French market

It is estimated that there are over 150 varieties of gin brands on the French market today, and La Maison du Whisky, for example, offers only 150 brands of very high quality. They estimate that by 2018, sales of gin liquor will double.
