GIN FROM PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION GIN

Sampaguita is the national flower of the Philippines, and new homegrown premium gin brand Proclamation pays tribute to.

The co-founders of the brand, Cheryl Tiu and Carlo Calma discovered the potential of this flower that led them to create a different product. While traveling, they met the sampaguita growers in Lubao, Pampanga, the most populated place of this flower in the Philippine country.

Among Proclamation’s 12 botanical herbs, we find juniper, coriander seed, angelica root, lily root, among others. In addition, orange peel, lemon peel, almond nut, among other ingredients and of course sampaguita.

The project took three years to materialize and after working with the women of Lubao, they decided that the brand would maintain a commitment to provide a source of livelihood to these farmers, albeit on a small scale. Coincidentally, “Sampaguita means “sumpa kita” in Filipino, meaning “I promise you,” says Tiu.
