A new alcohol-free gin arrives from Quebec's Distillery des Appalaches

This is the first alcohol-free creation of the distillery from the region of Quebec: Gin Alphonse.

After creating the gold medal winning Kepler gin, Distillerie des Appalaches brings a non-alcoholic gin. With this creation, the distillery seeks to penetrate the growing market for non-alcoholic beverages in Quebec.

Alphonse then becomes the second non-alcoholic gin launched in Quebec, after HP Juniper launched by partners of the Brasserie Amiral and prepared by the distillery Champ Libre.

You have to take care of yourself, drink less but drink better. Because you are in the middle of training for a sport competition, or simply to feel good with your body, an alternative is necessary. That alternative is Alphonse. All the pleasure of mixing top quality cocktails, without the alcohol. – Appalachian Distillery.

Thus, under these principles and to create local products and be more respectful of the environment, Appalaches launches Alphonse. Its master distiller, Raphaël Lessard, proceeded with the alcohol-free distillation of each aromatic separately to obtain a specific blend. Lessard worked for over a year on this trial and error project.

Tasting notes of Gin Alphonse

Labrador tea, chamomile, elderflower, linden, ginger, lime and juniper berry are the alternative gin. While a touch of “secret ingredient” causes that little throat narrowing characteristic of spirits.

This new product is named after the great Levisian Alphonse Desjardins, represented on the bottle by the painter Roxanne Lessard (aka Os Cane), Raphaël Lessard’s twin sister.

Alphonse gin should be available at SAQ branches in January, but it is possible to get a 750 ml bottle online starting at $29.50.

Don’t drink and drive. Enjoy responsibly.
