The year 2020 was marked by an increase in home delivery sales reflected in commodities, hand sanitizer and certain beverages.
In a year marked by the coronavirus pandemic, consumers turned to online sales. A behavior to obtain both staples and by-products. In Argentina, the delivery company PedidosYA prepared a report on the most requested products last year.
According to PedidosYA’s report, Argentinians most requested hand sanitizer gel, an indispensable product in our daily lives, even more so after the appearance of the Covid-19 coronavirus. Indeed, keeping our hands clean is an imperative gesture if we want to avoid the spread of the virus. The South American country reported a 1,271 percent growth in sales of this product.
But beyond basic necessities, Argentines reflected that they brought happy hour home. Sales of alcoholic beverages such as beer, a drink that according to market data, is the most consumed in the country with 45 liters of beer per person per year. Following beer, they found fernet and vodka. According to PedidosYA, these beverages led part of the home delivery sales.
