Earlier this year, The Danish brewer, in the spirit of the digital age, brings out the very first connected beer barrel. Now the bartender has total control over his beer keg.

The bartender can actually monitor the drum level in real time on a touch pad. In addition, the data collected helps the brewer to anticipate replenishment requests. These allow to collect real data and to analyze the consumption of draught beer. From now on, the brewer and the bartender will be able to know the most consumed beer, depending on the time of day or the course of the year.

With this new feature, Carlsberg reassures bar or restaurant managers. They will also be able to serve less well-known or more expensive beers, without running the risk of being caught short, due to the permanent and real-time monitoring of the keg’s level.

By the end of March 2019, the first pilot installations of the connected drums in Carlsberg will be operational in sales outlets in Copenhagen (Denmark), Malmö (Sweden) and Milan (Italy). However, Carlsberg has already proved its worth in Germany, in Berlin.

Don’t drink and drive. Enjoy responsibly.
