In Texas, breweries continue to struggle to pass the bill on the sale of beer to go. The “Beer to Go” bill passed the Texas House, and is now headed toward the Senate.
Around 200 breweries will benefit if the bill is passed. McKinney’s TUPPS Brewery is one of them. If the bill is passed, customers will be able to buy beers in the breweries to take away, without having to go through conventional stores.
Keith Lewis, owner of TUPPS Brewery says “Level that playing field, puts us on the same parity as everyone else, wineries, distilleries and other breweries… I think everyone is going to win when this bill is passed.”
On the other hand, another bill, which was also passed, would allow beer and wine sales to begin at 10 a.m. on Sunday instead of noon.
