The world’s second largest spirits company is committed to 100% green energy by 2025. Read more in our post.

The Group is taking 4 big steps towards 100% renewable electricity. In fact, Pernod Ricard’s winemakers received the award “Green Company of the Year” by Drinks Business.

Pernod Ricard is taking a major step forward in its efforts to protect the planet and develop renewable electricity. Actually, just a few days after the COP25 in Madrid reiterated the urgency of climate change.

Among other things, the Group is now officially a member of RE100, a global initiative led by The Climate Group in partnership with CDP. It brings together 221 international companies committed to 100% renewable electricity. This announcement is part of its new Sustainability and Responsibility roadmap, Good Times from a Good Place, announced in April 2019, through which Pernod Ricard has committed itself to, among 30 other objectives

  • achieve 100% renewable electricity in its production sites and administrative offices by 2025,
  • reduce its absolute carbon emissions from production sites by 30% by 2030. Validated in fact by the United Nations “Science Based Targets” initiative to be in line with the less than 2°C scenario.

In addition, in France, Pernod Ricard has just signed the Renewable Energy Option with EDF Entreprises. Under this agreement, the energy company undertakes to produce and distribute on the grid renewable electricity up to the amount of 32,000 megawatt-hours consumed each year by Pernod Ricard’s 42 production plants and administrative headquarters in France.

Pernod Ricard achieves green targets in Australia and Finland

Finally, Pernod Ricard is also working on the distribution of its renewable electricity network in other countries. For example, in Australia and Finland, where it has production plants. In Australia, they have already achieved 100% renewable energy with Pernod Ricard Winemakers. They are now the first wine company to achieve this goal. In Finland, they have also achieved carbon neutrality (Scopes 1 and 2) thanks to their cooperation with the city of Turku.

Don’t drink and drive. Enjoy responsibly.
