The Taiwanese distillery Kavalan received three gold medals, including Gold Outstanding at the recent 2018 International Wine & Spirit Competition.
Among the winning whisky bottles from the Yilan region distillery is the ‘Kavalan Oloroso Sherry Oak’ whisky, which won the Gold Outstanding gold medal. Next came the editions “Kavalan Distillery Reserve Peaty Cask” and “Kavalan Solist ex-Bourbon Single Cask”, with gold medals.
The “Kavalan Oloroso Sherry Oak” whisky is aged in the finest Spanish sherry barrels. It’s a complex, clear whisky. The “Kavalan Distillery Reserve Peaty Cask” is the distillery’s first peaty whisky, with subtropical fruit flavours and an unrivalled texture. “Kavalan Solist ex-Bourbon Single Cask” is a tropical blend of fruits such as coconut, spices and vanilla. Both whiskies aged in bourbon barrels.
