cerveza ecomusee - biere - beer

In France, the Écomusée releases four beer recipes from lagers to IPA.

Specialized in the creation of various beverages (honey, scnhaps…), the Écomusée d’Alsace is now launching the production of beer. They have created four styles of beer: lager, white, IPA and dark. They can also be tasted on site, a perfect opportunity in the context of the museum’s reopening on June 23.

I’ve already bottled between 400 and 500 bottles,” says brewer Jean-Charles Decarprentrier. Jean-Charles installed the vats and all the beer equipment in the heart of the village-museum. Visitors will be able to appreciate the brewery’s art as the brewer stands behind long windows. “I’m behind a glass box,” laughs Jean-Charles referring to the windows.

This new activity completes the museographic discourse. We already had a hop field where we organized a participatory harvest, but that’s where it ended,” says the museum. “Now we can use it for beer, although it will obviously be complemented by others from elsewhere.”

Sales of the beer will begin in July in can format in 33 and 75 cl. However from June 23 at the Trèfle d’Ungersheim winery, which is participating in the launch. The selling prices of the beers are not yet known.

In conclusion, Jean-Charles adds “In total, we should produce between 400 to 500 hectoliters per year“.
