This cognac hidden during the war is brought back to life

The London company Last Drop distillers is the proud bottler of this cognac of Grande Champagne distilled in 1925.

The discovery of a barrel of cognac buried in 1940 has given the English company a new spirit. This cognac dates specifically from 1925, the year of its distillation. It spent years of World War II buried in a family domain at the bottom of a trunk. Its owners sought to protect it from the German forces that, for the time being, were advancing towards the area.

Last Drop Distillers, a subsidiary of the American group Sazerac, bottled 182 specimens of this cognac Hors d’Âge 1925 de Grande Champagne. They will be put on sale for 4600 euros. It is undoubtedly a special addition to the ranges of spirits that Last Drop Distillers have, who already have two cognacs (1947 and 1950), old whiskies and very old ports.

Cognac fans can find out more about selling Hors d’Âge cognac on the Last Drop Distillers page.
