vodka made with milk sugar

Did you know we can make vodka out of milk? The Dairy Distillery of Almonte, located in Eastern Ontario tells us how.

You have probably heard about this before. Milk-based vodka is real, and it’s something pretty specific. To do so, the Dairy Distillery at Almonte, uses the milk sugar to create their spirits.

In fact, every spirit needs sugar and its fermentation. In this case, sugar comes from milk. The end result is a clear, fine vodka and an equally refined cream vodka. And all of this is achieved through an environmentally friendly process.

« We’ve married artisanal distilling with innovative science to help dairy farmers and the environment by transforming unused milk sugar into superior lactose and gluten-free spirits. Vodkow has the crisp, clean taste of a vodka but is smooth like no other. »

Besides, we can taste this vodka in cocktails too. « Savour neat or in your favourite cocktail. »
