In the French political landscape, Simone Veil was a leading figure. Furthermore, she entered the pantheon since July 1st 2018.
In a documentary dedicated to her, her family and some of her close friends remember what they lived with Simone. It talks about of her character or her habits. A friend of hers, Marceline Loridan-Ivans, tells a funny anecdote about her by revealing that, with Simone they liked “eating herring and drinking vodka”.
One of her sons confides in the documentary in these terms: “Mom is one of people who were very happy in the European institutions. And it is true: this life in Strasbourg enormously fascinated her. This disrupted a little family life. She is not present in Paris four days a week and in fact, the lunch of Saturday becomes a considerable moment of family life.” These all are memories of the personality who is only the 4th woman to enter the Pantheon.
