Four rum cocktail recipes you can make at home
1. Hurricane

Yield: 1 cocktail
60 ml light rum
60 ml dark rum
30 ml fresh lime juice
22.5 ml fresh passionfruit juice or liqueur
Small spoonful of grenadine
Splash of orange blossom water
Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker. Shake well and pour into a tall, curved glass over ice. Garnish with a pricked cherry and a slice of orange.
2. Spiced Mai Tai
Yield: 1 cocktail
30 ml light rum
30 ml dark rum 1/2 oz fresh lime juice
22.5 ml fresh grapefruit juice
Small spoonful of freshly ground cinnamon
15 ml orgeat syrup
15 ml aquafaba (the liquid in which the chickpeas have been cooked)
Pinch of bitter

Yield: 1 cocktail
30 ml amaro, a bittersweet herbal liqueur
30 ml dark rum
180 ml Coca-Cola
1 quart lime
4. Mojito
Yield: 1 cocktail
Several sprigs of fresh mint
1-2 teaspoons granulated sugar
15 ml fresh lime juice
60 ml light rum
120 ml sparkling water
Muddle the mint, sugar and lime juice in the bottom of a cocktail glass. Add the rum and top up with sparkling water.
