What if Martinique created its own Cité du Rhum (« city of rum ») just like the Cité du Vin (« city of wine ») in Bordeaux ?
This project was introduced by Contact-entreprises on Thursday October 11th 2018, in a debate that took place in the Crédit Agricole’s headquarters in Le Lamentin.
The idea is to create a unique place solely dedicated to rum culture in the center of Martinique, in a location especially built for this project or in an already existing and renovated one.
Shops, workshops, shows and restaurants would be directly linked to this theme, creating a place of events, exchanges and history.
With the success story of the Cité du Vin in Bordeaux and its economic benefits creating lots of employments, that’s all it took for Contact-entreprises to imagine the great tourist asset that could represent a unique place only dedicated to this local drink, the unique AOC rum in the world.
