The bartenders: jugglers behind the bar, magicians, but beyond that creators. Here we show you creations by bartenders, spirits, liqueurs and ingredients.

For bartenders, there is a world beyond the invention or preparation of a cocktail at the bar. There are custom creations born from the ingenuity of the profession, countless inventions such as spirits for cocktails, liquors and ingredients. For this they use their experience traveling around the world, discovering new flavors. Fresh juices, homemade syrups and alcohols created with quite dedication.

 

Some brands of spirits, liquors and ingredients created by bartenders

The 86 & Co.: created by Simon Ford, bartender winner of multiple awards and recognitions from the scene. In The 86 & Co. Ford created a vodka, a gin, a rum and a tequila.

Aviation Gin: yes! and we’re still talking about Aviation Gin. We already know that it belongs to actor Ryan Reynolds. But the pioneer of American-style gin started with Christian Krogstad and bartender Ryan Magarian in 2006.

Banks Rum: bartender Jim Meehan is the ingenious creator of the representative rum of the Banks 5 brand. It is a mixture of rum from Trinidad, Jamaica, Barbados, Guyana and Indonesia (Java).

Italicus Rosolio de Bergamotto: the elegant Italian liqueur was created by bartender Giuseppe Gallo, known for being an ambassador for Marini & Rosso vermouth. A subtle and ancient recipe based on rose petals and bergamot give rise to rosolio.

Old Duff Genever: the true Dutch genever, the forerunner of the gin we hear today, is also revived in the Old Duff Genever brand created by bartender Philip Duff, based in Schiedam, the Netherlands. The recipe? two-thirds rye grain and one-third malted barley. It ferments for five days, and then is mixed with a neutral wheat distillate and juniper skin. Also, lemon and orange, star anise, liquorice and coriander.
