The list of nominees for the Eat Drink Design Awards 2020 was revealed, recognizing the best bar and restaurant design in Australia and New Zealand.
According to the event’s organizers, there has never been a better time to recognize “the spaces that bring value and happiness on a daily basis.
Emphasizing excellence in innovation and design, this year’s selection honors a sense of comfort and nostalgia.
“Perhaps it is no coincidence that in an era of such turmoil, we have seen designers create spaces that provide familiarity in appearance and comfort in touch,” said award judge and Artichoke editor Cassie Hansen.
“Several designers seem to be looking for an air of nostalgia for the interiors they design. Many sites show a modern touch in traditional spaces. This year the designers have one foot in the past while looking firmly into the future”.
