The finals of Diageo’s World Class took place in the last week crowning bartender James Grant from Alberta, World Class Canada Bartender of the year 2021.
The bartender originally from Melbourne, Australia, shakes his cocktails at the bar of Little Hong Kong bar in Edmonton, Alberta. Diageo’s World Class highlights bartenders all over the world, and for the Canada edition for which the finals took place between the 28th and 30th of March, 11 bartenders were preselected. Facing each other, the jury assessed the bartenders following techniques, cocktail preparation and hosting criteria.
In the month of July, James Grant will compete against the best bartenders of the world during the finals of World Class Global. Taking place in Madrid, Grant will be representing Canada. In this stage of the competition, Grant will compete for the World Bartender of the Year 2021 title.
