Today she is the bartender behind the bar at The Branca Room, an exclusive speakeasy in the heart of Bishop Arts District in Dallas, Texas.
We talked with Lauren after her victory in our Bartender Cocktail of 2022 edition. See what Lauren has to say below.

Laurent Wahlstrom – Tell us about yourself!
I’m Originally from Portland, Oregon. I began my first bartending gig at The Blue Diamond in Portland, dive by day, jazz club by night in 2012.
I slung a lot of Rum and Cokes before I got my first craft cocktail gig at Quality Bar.
I now call The Branca Room “home” in Dallas, Texas, the brainchild of the exuberant James Slater. It’s a Dallas staple and the best bar manager I’ve ever had.
We are an Amaro bar and creative playground where bartenders get to shine.

When I’m not behind the bar…
When I’m not behind the bar at The Branca Room my partner and I are working on our own venture, RAYO the neighborhood cocktail bar we can’t seem to find in Dallas.
My favorite spin
My favorite spin on a classic is a Tequila Manhattan: blanco tequila, substituting cherry heering for sweet vermouth.
My favorite original creation
My favorite original creation is “The Medusa”, a blend of Italian amaros, Fernet, Cachaça and blackberry!
