The Worldwide Distilled Spirits Conference (WDSC) will take place in Edinburgh from 25 to 28 May. This year, the conference will highlight the theme “the spirit of diversity, knowledge and innovation”. This event will focus on reflecting the expansion of the spirits industry in recent years. Both in Scotland and elsewhere.

The seventh WDSC will take place again in Edinburgh for the first time since 2008. It will be hosted by the Institute of Brewing & Distilling in Scotland. It is worth noting that the last edition took place in Glasgow in 2017 and that the WDSC has been held for 40 years.

This conference brings together academic, business, trade, government and media experts to discuss and share knowledge about the latest innovations in distillation. It is also an opportunity to highlight the Scottish spirits industry.

The conference will open with Ulrich Adam, Director of the Spirits Europe trade body.  And the closing ceremony, by Jean-Christophe Coutures. Coutures, is Chairman and CEO of Chivas Brothers, Pernod Ricard‘s Scotch whisky company.

Joe Arciero, head of the WDSC 2020 organising committee said: “This event, which highlights Scotland’s expertise in spirits distillation, attracts speakers and delegates from around the world. They are keen to share their knowledge, discuss the latest innovations and anticipate future developments.”
