Now one of the best whiskies in the world, Tiger Snake Whiskey and Limeburners won gold and silver medals at the World Whisky Awards. Meet them here.

The Albany, Australia, Great Southern Distilling Co. won gold in the Best Of category, and a silver medal. Among the winning brands, Tiger Snake Whiskey. This brand won two gold medals for its Cask Strength and Rye of the Tiger whiskeys. They also won a silver medal for Limeburners Whisky Port Cask Strength.

Both whisky brands come from the Great South region of Australia and are now internationally renowned brands.

Tiger Snake Whiskey is produced at the Great Southern Distilling Co distillery in Porongorup. It is a whisky made from corn, rye from the South Coast and malted barley and sometimes with triticale. Limeburners, on the other hand, is produced at the Albany distillery from malted barley grown in Western Australia. Cameron Syme, founder of Limeburners, explains that the success of his whiskies is due to the raw materials in the region.

We’re very lucky here in the Great South region of Western Australia. For having one of the richest grains in the world within reach. Clean water and fresh air.” Cameron said, “It means we have the tools to make world-class whisky.”
