Cognac, the French drink par excellence, can be tasted in various bars in the Parisian capital. We bring you five of the best bars where to taste it, neat or in cocktail.

Bar Botaniste – Shangri-La

Located in the prestigious hotel of the same name, the Bar Botaniste at the Shangri-La París prepares special, original and daring creations, inspired by Roland Bonaparte. You can enjoy cognac-based cocktails such as Néktar. A cocktail prepared with Martell Premier Assemblage, mead, inul honey, red propolis and fresh pollen. The bar also offers a wide variety of cognac, such as Augier, Rémy Martin, Bourgoin, Camus, among others.

Open Monday to Sunday from 6:00pm to 2:00am.

10 Avenue d’Iéna, 75116 Paris

Fréquence

A place to find good cocktails and music to follow that sounds direct from a vinyl collection. Participant last year of the Cognac Cocktail Connection edition, here they know how to prepare very well cocktails based on the spirit. As for cognac, the team Fréquence maintains the same philosophy: a selection according to the essence and history of the product to imagine cocktails that balance well.

Previously, the three leaders Guillaume Quenza (ex-Sherry Butt), Matthieu Biron (ex-Andy Wahloo) and Baptiste Radufe said:

Cognac is a liqueur with a lot of character, which adds consistency to the cocktail. It is always a pleasure to explore all kinds of cognac in our creations. Today, we make our cocktails with an unassembled VSOP. He challenged me for the passionate work of his winegrowers and the methods of aging. This drink is back in the spotlight thanks to the great return of local products that reflect the world of cooking“.

Open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 6:00pm to 2:00pm; Saturday from 12:oopm to 2:00am and Sunday from 12:00pm to 3:00pm.

20 Rue Keller, 75011 Paris

Syndicat

The Parisian Syndicat team knows how to mix flavours with cognac. In fact, this year they ran the ephemeral Cognac Experience x Le Syndicat bar at the 2019 Cocktail Street for three days. The bartenders prepared cocktails like:

“PEACH DON’T KILL MY VIBE”

Cognac, Rinquinquinquin, fresh lemon juice, homemade peach syrup, rosemary mousse.

“LE CITRONNELLE”

Cognac, cider liqueur, pineapple syrup and homemade lemongrass, fresh lemon juice,
fresh ginger juice, sparkling water.

“SAZERAC”

Cognac, sugar syrup, bitter.
