After the closure of bars in Paris since last year, some decide to transform their space for a good cause. At Le Pavillon des Canaux, they welcome students to work for free.

Since February 9, 2021, the bar and restaurant Le Pavillon des Canaux offers students the possibility to work on their assignments for free. Students, especially university students, find it difficult to work adequately on their assignments. Many find themselves in a precarious situation and temporarily deprived of a presence at the university.

The bar and restaurant in the 19th arrondissement of Paris is open from Tuesday to Thursday for students. They can go alone or in groups of up to four people. Like many bars and restaurants in the country Le Pavillon des Canaux is closed because of covid-19. Following the government’s announcements in its attempt to curb the spread of the virus the hotel business is on hiatus.

It is an atypical place, a small house in the Quai de la Loire area. It is open from Tuesday to Thursday from 10 am to 5 pm. Students wishing to enter only need to show their student card and book a day from the bar’s website.

The daily ActuParis said there are between eight and 14 places to reserve each day until at least March.

Among other similar things, during the summer some luxury hotels offered their rooms repurposed as coworking for salaried employees.

Le Pavillon des Canaux announced on its Facebook page that it will offer its services free of charge to students until the government announces new measures.
