Daniela Soto-Innes is co-owner of the renowned Cosme and Atla restaurants in New York City.

A 28-year-old chef, she shares 3 cocktail recipes inspired by the natural remedies of her Mexican grandmother, Carmen Hernandez Melendez.

She has trays of powders, roots and bowls overflowing with herbs… her cocktails look like magic potions!

As a chef, her days are busy, Soto-Innes relies on a few healthy drinks to keep her balance. “Every day, when I get up, I think: What do I need today? How do I feel?” she said.

In the early morning, she often drinks a tangy mixture of dried hibiscus flowers, soaked in hot water, with a hint of cider vinegar. She has loved the taste of hibiscus since childhood and adds apple cider vinegar to clean her intestines. No waste, if she doesn’t finish the drink, she will mix the rest with olive oil when it cools and use it as a dressing.

For a little boost, she drinks green coffee, mixed with coconut oil, which provides “pure energy without anxiety”. Finally, to fight hangovers, she drinks a floral drink of lemon verbena and coconut water.
