Wahlid Mehri from Ferdinand Bar introduces new cocktail
We met with Walid Merhi, manager of Ferdinand Bar in Beyrouth, right in his bar. It is located in the Mahatma Gandhi Street, a street that runs down from the iconic Hamra Street until the American University of the Beirut Campus.
Among quality restaurants and shops, we find this well rated Bar – Restaurant which offers burgers (apparently the people’s choice!), other american pub style of dishes, and of course cocktails.
On this occasion Walid Mehri prepared for us one of his latest cocktails, with fresh kiwi, lime juice and neutral spirit redistilled with nibs and laurel, house flat cider and champagne. In addition, he adds a white chocolate shell (another sweet ingredient of the cocktail) with caviar, which is savory. This way the cocktail has an umami flavor and overall the result is a sour cocktail.
