A prince in Cognac!

Prince Albert II of Monaco was invited this Wednesday by the Bureau National Interprofessionnel du Cognac (BNIC), in the city of Charente. Patrick Raguenaud, who chaired this meeting, presented him with the diploma of “Grand ambassador” in tribute to his affection for the region, Cognac, and wines.

He took the opportunity to reaffirm his love for Charente spirits: “Cognac represents excellence, an appellation that is extremely well managed and presented. It is part of the French cultural heritage.”

During this ceremony, the Prince paid tribute to the know-how of the men and women who produce Cognac, and stressed the importance of transmitting the cultural heritage and living gastronomy.

Beginning with a presentation of the region’s spirits, this private tour ended with collective master-classes with the actors of the sector around the flavours of the terroir, distillation, blending, ageing, the art of tasting and food pairing.
