LVMH: the French leader in the spirits industry

The French leader in the luxury sector is famous for its contribution to the fashion industry, but not only : it also distinguishes itself in the production of spirits, as it represents 13% of its activities.

The group owns several prestigious brands of various types of alcoholic beverages. Among them:

  • Champagne : Moët & Chandon, Mercier, Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin, Dom Pérignon, Maison Ruinard, Krug
  • Wine : Cape Mentelle, Château d’Yquem, Château Cheval Blanc
  • Cognac : Hennessy
  • Whisky : Glenmorangie
  • Vodka : Ardbeg Vodka, Belvedere
  • Tequila : Volcán de mi Tierra

Most of these brands are internationally renowned and some of them are even leaders in their sector.

The group’s market capitalization is the biggest among its sector. Also, its turnover has kept increasing over the years with the sales of alcoholic products. It has grown from 2 280 million euros in 2004 to 3 126 million in 2008. In 2017, it reached 5 084 million euros.

However, even if the group is a reference in the luxury sector, economists expect both the spirit industry and LVMH to experience a reduction of their turnover’s growth.

Don’t drink and drive. Enjoy responsibly.
