Martell cognac continues its commitment to success in China
With the opening of a new store “of a new kind” in China, Martell reinforces its presence in Asia.
Martell opened a new store in China, and it is no coincidence that they have done so. The cognac brand wants to rebound after seeing its sales fall by 20%.
On 14 September, Master Winemaker Christophe Valtaud spoke online to hundreds of journalists in China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Taiwan and Europe.
The Martell house inaugurated the Atelier Martell Shenzen, an exceptional boutique dedicated to tasting and exploration. In addition, it focuses on a number of exclusive products about cognac.
“Atelier Martell is an innovative concept that expresses our vision: to make cognac an experience where the customer is at the center of the experience. With L’Atelier Martell, we offer our customers new ways to explore, immerse and engage. Totally new experiences allow them to discover our heritage, our know-how and our cognacs“. César Giron, director and CEO of Maison Martell.
Atelier Martell welcomes visitors with authentic elements directly from Cognac. Its design is inspired by the Atelier du Maître de chai (cellar master) at Maison Martell. In particular, the spectacular exhibition of more than 200 clocks (glass bottles used for cognac tasting) allows visitors to appreciate the many nuances of cognac. Further on, a wall of oak barrels and selected pieces from the archives illustrate the knowledge and history of the House. Materials, such as wood and copper, which evoke the cognac-making process are used in an original and contemporary way.
The new 160 m2 store aims to establish a close relationship with the city of Shenzhen.
