Charles Aznavour – Au Piano Bar
And that’s how we traditionally pay tribute to another great artist who is leaving us. Charles Aznavour, after a brilliant career and as he said in “Je me voyais déjà” became one of the most important voices of the French chanson.
Au Piano Bar, is the song we selected to remember it in our Spirits Hunters Playlist. A theme that goes very well, that transports us perhaps to a Caveau de la Huchette, or to one of so many jazz bars in Paris, as mentioned in the lyrics of the theme, and also draws a scene with the best actors of the genre: Cole Porter, Irwing Berlin … while tasting a whiskey soda.
But among other things, it is a theme that imposes the subtle voice, but powerful and with “gañote”, of Aznavour. Undeniable musical talent with a facility to adapt to a variety of musical genres.
On Friday morning, October 5, Parisians – and anyone passing through Paris – will be able to attend the national tribute organized for Chales Aznavour in Invalides, in which the singer will receive the honors of the Nation. Long live the “French Sinatra”.
