beer

Science! Beer makes you want to go to the bathroom. Why?

This phenomenon that attracts everyone’s attention, worsens after a few beers, and even more after going to the bathroom for the first time. Why does beer make you want to go to the bathroom?

Beer makes us want to urinate because of the inhibition of a hormone called vasopressin, or antidiuretic hormone. But there are two other factors that cause this.

On the one hand, we must know that beer is a hypertonic drink, that is, that it is richer in components than other liquids in our body. This means that our kidneys need to add more water to our kidneys in order to dilute them. Therefore, it will become more liquid and our organism will be able to expel it through urine. The more water, the more you want to urinate!

On the other hand, alcohol tends to inhibit vasopressin, the antidiuretic hormone that prevents us from emptying the cistern every 5 minutes to limit dehydration. Now you know! So drink moderately!

Don’t drink and drive. Enjoy responsibly.
