Via Wine Spectator- Despite the separation of Bradd Pitt and Angelina Jolie, both know how to maintain their professional relationship. The couple is known to have produced a rosé wine and to own vineyards in Province. But now, they have joined forces for a project focused on a champagne of the same color. To do so, they are partnering with the Pierre Péters house in Mesnil-sur-Oger, who will produce it. Previously, the couple partnered with the Perrin family, to produce their rosé wine, “Miraval Côtes de Provence”.
The agency in charge of communication for the Miraval estate said: “This is a family project between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt and their children, with the families of the Perrin and Péters vineyards. The latter two have known each other for a long time.”
A vineyard with a rich history. Its founder, of Luxembourg origin, has had this vineyard developed over six generations in the heart of the famous côte des blancs, south of Épernay. Here, they host 19 hectares of chardonnay, a champagne blanc de blancs grand cru sold all over the world.
Today, the vineyard is embarking on this adventure with Jolie and Pitt. It is worth mentioning that this region of Champagne is the only one authorized to mix red and white wine.
“This will be the only house in Champagne that will produce only rosé,” explained Rodolphe Péters, its director.
They estimate a volume of 10,000 bottles to start with but do not expect to produce more than 25,000 bottles in time.
There is no known launch date for the champagne although the company has already been created.
