Kavalan releases new whisky from the Concertmaster series

This is the 2019 global premiere of the Taiwanese whisky brand. From today, it is available in bars in Taiwan and will soon be followed by other countries.

The Concermaster Sherry Finish is finally alive. The new bottle of Kavalan whisky contains 40% ABV and is the result of a double maturation process in sherry cask. In addition, it went through a two-part aging process.

The first, thanks to the American oak barrels that reveal the fruity side and purity of the Kavalan spirit. At the same time, it takes it to its most delicate aromas. The second, for its American oak barrels seasoned with sherry. These offer the complexity of their layers and highlight the depth of flavor. A taste made only possible in the subtropical climate of Taiwan.

For Kavalan’s general manager, Mr Lee, whisky is “highly elegant, rich, and smoothly silky. With notes of dried black fruits and nuts with a lot of taste.”

A cocktail for the premiere

For its premiere, bartender Shane Lin, of the recently released Kavalan Whisky Bar, created a cocktail to premiere Sherry Finish. The Long Story Short is a cocktail version of the Bond Vesper Martini. It consists of: 30 ml Kavalan Concertmaster Sherry Finish, 15 ml Kavalan Gin, 15 ml American Cocchi and 15 ml Noilly Prat extra dry vermouth. Finally, a lemon shell to decorate.

The Concertmaster Series

Kavalan’s Concertmaster series masterfully blends and refines the aromas and flavors of his whisky to create indefinable depth and balance.
