Where did this giant cucumber come from?

This is the question that many people ask themselves on the internet and on social networks, when they discovered certain photos of a giant cucumber surfing in the city of Sydney. Do you know the answer?

We already know how much the English love cucumbers, and nothing less than Hendrick’s Gin pays tribute each year to this fresh fruit, which gives the brand its unique taste.

The cucumber that appeared floating in Sydney is the product of a Hendrick’s marketing campaign to value the fruit that makes its gin so unique. Pictures and videos spread around the networks challenging internet users to discover where the globe is. The hashtag #HendricksCucumberSOS is published on Instagram and Twitter in order to find the whereabouts of the cucumber.

Unfortunately the cucumber had a drastic end:

To learn more about Hendrick’s and his love for cucumber, write “World Cucumber Day” in your agenda on June 14th to celebrate the day dedicated to the special fruit flattered by gin.

Don’t drink and drive. Enjoy responsibly.
