Oaxaca cocktail by Alex Valencia

Alex Valencia is a bartender from Mexico. He lives in Brooklyn, New York where he is the director of La Contenta NYC bar and La Contenta OESTE.

After a few exchanges with Alex, here is his favourite homemade cocktail recipe. He also shared with us the recipe for a group of 100 people. Ideal for your evenings!



Oaxaca cocktail by Alex Valencia














2oz  Mezcal

3/4oz cucumber juice

3/4oz lime juice

1/2oz Jalapeño-agave

Pinch basil.

Method: Put all the ingredients into a shaker, add ice and double strain.

Garnish: Tajin Rim

Glass: Double old fashion or rock glass.


Batch for 100 people: (full cocktail each one)

8 btls Mezcal.

3btls of 750ml cucumber juice.

3btls of 750ml lime juice.

1.5 bottle of 750ml agave syrup

1 bottle ancho Verde

2 small boxes of basil.
