We recommend 10 excellent champagnes for less than 100 euros

These bottles of champagne, are some of the best value for money without entering the vintage category or known as millésime in French.

But first we will explain a couple of things to differentiate a vintage champagne from a traditional champagne.

What is a vintage or millésimé champagne?

Both words mean the same thing. Vintage in English and millésimé in French, designate a champagne that has not had the mixture of years. It is made with great balanced wines from the same vintage that have benefited from exceptional maturing conditions, some of which have the advantage of preserving their character and making them known to the public. Its interest lies in the fact that no two thousandths are the same, because the climatic data, even in excellence, is eminently variable.

A champagne “non-vintage” in English sans année in French is the one that, as opposed to the millésimé, we have just seen produced. Taking advantage of all the blends, which constitute the largest volume of production, it is the most satisfactory for the amateur who is attached to tradition and concerned about the continuity of quality. The producers of champagne believe very much in their non-vintage champagnes, since outside of exceptional harvests, it is a champagne that represents the continuity of the basic production of the house. We commonly see the word Brut on the labels of these champagnes.
