Got some gin? You can create a food pairing with gin experience at home by cooking these dishes for your dinner to reveal great flavors.

Gin is a polyvalent spirit able to enhance multiple flavors when paired with food. You can taste gin in cocktails mostly, but there are also sipping gins that you can easily enjoy in a glass on the rocks.

The advantage of gin is that being so rich in botanicals, we can match it with multiple kinds of foods. Think tomatoes, raspberries, lavender, seafood…

Tomato and burrata salad with Lavender dressing

Ingredients

2 balls of burrata

450g of mixed heritage tomatoes

100g of raspberries

Salt & Pepper

Lavender dressing:

  • 1 heabed tbsp honey
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 plump garlic clove, peeled and finely chopped
  • 1/4 tsp dried lavender
  • 1/2 tsp red wine vinegar

Crab and Tarragon Tagliatelle

Ingredients

  • 200g tagliatelle
  • 3 tbsp olive oil, plus extra to drizzle
  • 2 shallots, finely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • Splash of gin
  • 200g white crab meat
  • Large handful of tarragon, chopped with a few leaves reserved for garnishing
  • 1 tsp chilli flakes
  • Zest and juice of 1⁄2 lemon

 

Apple and salted caramel tiramisu

Ingredients (4-6 servings)

For the salted caramel sauce:

  • 50g sugar
  • 3 tbsp water
  • 50g salted butter
  • 200g double cream

For the tiramisu:

  • 50g sugar + 30g
  • 30g butter
  • 3 eggs (yolks and whites separated)
  • 300g mascarpone
  • 3 Pink Lady apples
  • 12 to 15 shortbreads

Make the perfect Gin and Tonic recipe

Ingredients

2 ounces gin

4 ounces tonic water

Garnish:

2 lime wheels or other seasonal garnishes you may prefer

Type of glass: Highball or Coupe

Preparation

Fill a highball glass with ice, then add the gin.

Top with the tonic water and gently stir.

Garnish with lime wheels or seasonal garnishes
