The mezcal market expected to reach a value of $840M in 2022

The mezcal market is estimated to reach an estimated value of $840 million by 2022.

According to Future Market Insights, a market study reveals that by 2022 around $840 million worth of mezcal will be consumed. Consumption compares to a growth identical to that during the colonial era.

In addition, mezcal is in a position to expand to a TCCA of 17.8% over the forecast period 2017-2022. This is due, among other factors, to the development of the consumption of the drink worldwide. However, it is expected that the main markets will be the United States, followed by Latin America.

Mezcal, known for its health benefits such as regulating blood sugar and improving digestion, in addition to being natural and gluten-free, leads to a greater preference for this drink. As a consequence an increase in demand and better performance than other beverages in a turbulent market.

On the one hand, aged mezcal will be the fastest growing range by 2022. The predominant companies are Ilegal Mezcal, Destilería Tlacolula, El Tinieblo and El Silencio Holdings. In addition to these, other companies such as Pernod Ricard, Pierde Almas and William Grant & Sons are profiled.

On the other hand it is estimated that mezcal with 100% tequila concentrate will be predominant by 2022. The mezcal produced from the concentrate is preferred to keep the drink without additives and reduce the hangover.
