All set for the world’s largest sake meeting

The Japanese Sake Fair is held on June 15 in Sunshine City, Ikebukuru, Tokyo. The fair is known for being the “largest sake gathering in the world“.

The event, which brings together more than 400 sake brands that won the Japan Sake Awards last May, will bring together producer associations from 45 prefectures. Here, they will present their local products and will be available to the public for tasting and/or purchase. These tastings include the winning sake from the Japan Sake Awards.

On the other hand, 14 seminars are included, for example to explore the customs of tasting sake. But the most exciting part of the event is the opportunity to taste sake after sake, and discover the immense variety of the Japanese spirit. More than 400 tasting possibilities. You can walk through the event with your cup of sake (ochoko) and taste it in every place that attracts your attention.

The Japanese Sake Fair is divided into several categories, among them:

  • All Japan Sake Fair: sake tasting contest to distinguish different brands; tasting of 4 types of sake and discovery of the initiation of the drink; snack stand to taste sake/food combinations; Sakagura tourism stand to discover a sake distillery through various formats; Kokushu calligraphy exhibition.
  • Public tasting: 400 Japan Sake Awards winning brands will be available, as well as a presentation on the organization of the Japan Sake Awards and questions/answers with specialists.
  • Sake Seminars and the Sake Production Process
