Best bars nominated for the Virtuoso 2019 awards revealed
As every year, Virtuoso reveals its nominees for the Best of Best Awards in the best bars category. Competition is discussed between France, the United States, Israel and the United Kingdom.
The Sustainable Tourism Leadership Award recognizes hotels that exemplify commitment to the three pillars of sustainable tourism: preserving the environment, supporting local economies and celebrating cultures.
Along with the announcement of the 50 nominees to reward hospitality and its best representatives, five bars from four countries are positioned to take home the prestigious award. Among the nominees for best bar are:
1. Le Bar Long, Hotel Le Royal Monceau, grupo Raffles, Paris, France
The Royal Monceau’s cocktail bar is ideal for a relaxed and sophisticated atmosphere. Chic, the bar stands out for its frankly Parisian design. Designed by Philippe Starck, renowned designer, creator and interior designer.
2. La Sirenuse Champagne Bar, Hotel Four Seasons at The Surf Club, Florida
The Sirenuse Champagne Bar evokes an Italian Mediterranean atmosphere, both for its name and its decoration. Champagne served in handmade Venetian glasses by Carlo Moretti for a final touch of sophistication.
3. The Flying Stag, The Fife Arms, Ballater, United Kingdom
A local social centre, The Flying Stag bar retains faithful visitors to sample the libations created behind the extravagant bar, or beers, a variety of Scotch whisky and spirits accompanied by a menu of tapas and succulent Scottish dishes.
4. Z Bar, Peninsula Chicago, Illinois, United States
The lounge Z Bar offers a menu of cocktails and food with innovative, strong and worldwide flavors. Enjoying all this surrounded by live music, art and design creates an atmosphere of immersion. Plus, an incredible view of the city of Chicago from the rooftop. A touch of luxury to complement the sophisticated American bar.
5. The Chapel Bar, The Jaffa a Luxury Collection Hotel, Tel Aviv, Israel
In a very minimalist hotel, an unusual bar stands out. The Chapel Bar is an immense place, at the same time elegant and flirtatious, even feminine. Pastel colours, pink, turquoise, violet, contrast with the white and grey mosaic of the floor and the ochre and blue furniture. Original, because the walls draw actors who once acted as a priest.
The winners of the Virtuoso awards will be announced on August 14, 2019 during Virtuoso Travel Week”at the Bellagio Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
