Bars in three-quarters of the state of California will be closed for at least three weeks and restaurants will not be allowed to use closed spaces.

Official sources confirm an alarming progression of the Covid-19 pandemic in California. In fact, more than 6.000 new cases of Covid have been confirmed in recent days, three times more than at the end of May.

The Californian Governor, Gavin Newsom, then announced an immediate closure of bars, museums and cinemas. This closure will last “at least three weeks”, in much of the state. The sites affected are Los Angeles, and much of Silicon Valley. San Francisco had already announced a delay of the second phase of reopening by mid-July.

Restaurants instead will be prohibited from receiving customers in closed spaces. However, they can take advantage of the terraces, said the governor.

As the national holiday approaches on July 4, the governor is asking citizens to avoid crowds of people and to wear masks. Gavin insists that “we are still far from winning the fight.”

Don’t drink and drive. Enjoy responsibly.
