The key to this recipe is found in the maceration of the prawns in the whisky for 3 or 4 hours before cooking them. Also, it is necessary to try to choose the freshest prawns, with the best condition and colour.
Whisky offers a variety of possibilities for food pairing, both for preparing and tasting meals. This time we show you how to prepare baked prawns in whisky for a delicious starter. It is very easy to prepare and you will only need five ingredients.
Ingredients
2 dozen fresh prawns
1 cup of whiskey
1 1/2 cups of extra virgin olive oil
7 cloves of garlic
Salt to taste
Preparation
First we must wash the prawns well and remove their heads. Then, let them drain.
Add salt.
Place the prawns on a baking tray with their legs upwards. (Do not remove the shell).
Peel and slice the garlic cloves and spread them over the prawns.
Add olive oil and whisky to the prawns.
Cover with film and leave the shrimp to macerate for 3-4 hours in the fridge.
After 3 or 4 hours, preheat the oven to 200 degrees and once it is hot, put the tray in and cook for 10 minutes.
Remove and serve hot with the cooking juice.
Don’t drink and drive. Enjoy responsibly.
