The number one bar and liquor salon moves to New York. The first edition is greeted by every attendee.

BCB: three letters which, for cocktail professionals, hide one of the events of the year, sometimes called “the Christmas of the bartenders”. Since its humble beginnings in 2007, Bar Convent Berlin has grown. During the last edition, in October 2017, no less than 12217 visitors hurried there. Last week, these same three letters took on a second meaning, with Bar Convent Brooklyn.

It’s no secret that for years the organizers of the Berlin event had wanted to settle in the United States. It’s now done: on June 13 and 14, over 3,100 professionals filled Brooklyn Expo. Less than in Berlin of course, but a real crowd success for a show of a new type across the Atlantic.

During the two days, visitors were able to discover new products from the national and international market such as two vodkas from the Belvedere Single Estate Rye series, the Finnish Napue and Koskue gins from Kyrö and the Aromatic Tonic from Fever Tree. They were also able to attend a masterclass program designed by Angus Winchester and taste the creations of the guest mixologists.

Although Bar Convent is well on its way to conquering the West, the organisation is not abandoning Europe: the 12th edition of Bar Convent Berlin will take place over three days (it is a novelty) from 8 to 10 October next.
