Maxim Schulte of the American Bar is developing a new gin with Beefeater
After winning the MIXLDN 7 Beefeater competition, a worldwide competition held in Shoreditch in February, bartender Maxim Schulte developed a new limited edition expression of Beefeater gin, nicknamed MIXLDN 7.
Schulte worked with Beefeater’s master distiller and industry veteran Desmond Payne MBE to create an expression in recognition of his victory: “Working alongside people as experienced and experienced as Desmond Payne was a dream come true.
For his new gin, the bartender added Japanese Sencha tea, lemon verbena and raspberry leaf to the classic Beefeater botanical base, which includes juniper, lemon zest, coriander seeds, almonds and angelica roots.
Today, he has moved to London to play the role of head bartender at Savoy’s American Bar, under the direction of Erik Lorincz.
