Selling records for collectible cognacs
The online magazine ” The Drink Business ” was the only media to mention, on September 10, a record sale: the one made by Hedonism Wines shop for a bottle of collectible cognac sold at £ 200,000, almost 25000 €. The precious bottle, distilled in 1805, contained about 3 liters of brandy.
This sale really does not come as a surprise when one thinks that there is, everywhere in the world, and especially in Great Britain, a real craze for collectible cognacs. As precedent record, let’s mention the sale by The Hyde Kensington, a bar in London, of 4 centilitres of cognac at 10,014 pounds or a little more 11,400 €. Similarly, in the spring of 2016, the Artcurial house in Paris was auctioning three bottles of cognac for a total of € 72,800.
Collectible cognacs snap up at gold prices. This will be undoubtedly confirmed by the big sale of charity organized in Cognac by the National Interprofessional Cognac Bureau. The funds collected will be destined for the School of reintegration Cuisine mode d’emploi (s) and the Fraineau association.
Don’t drink and drive. Enjoy responsibly.
