The Barbados Food and Rum Festival will be held from 18 to 21 October

The Barbados Food and Rum Festival will finally take place October 18-21 to celebrate the best of rum and gastronomy.

Known as the Culinary Capital of the Caribbean, Barbados will host the ninth edition of the Barbados Food and Rum festival, after announcing in June a change in the date of the event, mainly scheduled for the month of November.

This date change is made with the intention of promoting for longer the culture of mixology and gastronomy on the island. William Griffith explains, “Not only did we change the date, but we also met with restaurateurs, chefs, mixologists and even event promoters with the idea of extending the BFRF [from] just four days to a month-long experience. So this October, in addition to your usual festival favorites, you’ll be able to see food trucks, bar pop-ups (…)“.

During the 2018 edition, participants will be able to taste rum pairing at the Signature Rum Event. As for gastronomy, during the four days of the festival it will be possible to taste dishes in different events organized for this purpose. This year, the Festival plans to highlight the gastronomic side even more. (TT News). The festival starts on Thursday 18 October, as is customary in the south, with the outdoor fish party Night Out in Oistins.

Don’t drink and drive. Enjoy responsibly.
