The best Australian bars for 2018 unveiled

The best Australian bars were announced at the annual Australian Bar Awards ceremony held in September at Doltone House in Sydney. These awards are nominated and voted on by hotel workers.

NSW: Baxter Inn
For the second year in a row, this lively bar, located in the basement, took first place: rare whiskies, breathtaking cocktails, catchy tunes, carpets covered in candle wax and retro light.

ACT: Rochford Bar
This comfortable wine bar, perched high above the ground, lights up vinyl records of funky melodies on a daily basis and offers delicious drinks.

QLD: The Gresham
This charming drinking bar, housed in a former historical bank, houses more than 200 whiskies behind its wooded counter. There are clever cocktails, rare spirits and a competent staff!

SA: NOLA
This soul place is the ideal place for beer and whisky lovers.

TAS: IXL Long Bar
Nestled in the Henry Jones Art Hotel, this warm and traditional bar offers martinis and signature drinks, to be enjoyed while listening to jazzy music.

WA: lowercase
This bright bar offers specialty liqueurs and seasonal bar dishes thanks to the vegetable garden on the roof.

Don’t drink and drive. Enjoy responsibly.
