Altena Spritz Cocktail Recipe by bartender and mixologist Jesse Estes

Jesse Estes, has worked behind the bar at establishments like The Lonsdale, Green & Red and has performed guest bartending shifts around the world. Discover his signature cocktail.

He has won a number of cocktail competitions and regularly acts as a judge and chairman for various cocktail competitions and spirits awards including the Drinks International’s International Spirit Challenge and the Bartenders’ Best Awards.

In 2013, Jesse developed the bar program for London’s first ‘agavería‘ – a bar specializing in Agave Spirits – El Nivel. That same year, Jesse was named one of London’s Best Bartenders by the Huffington Post.

As of now Jesse Estes is the Global Ambassador for Tequila Ocho and can be found leading seminars, tastings, and masterclasses on tequila and other agave spirits across the world. He gladly shared with Spirits Hunters his favorite signature cocktail called Alteña Spritz cocktail which unlike the original spritz this version has the touch of the Tequila blanco ! Cheers !

 

Alteña Spritz cocktail

Ingredients

1 oz Tequila Ocho Blanco

1/3 oz freshly squeezed pink grapefruit juice

2 lemon wedges

1/4 oz passion fruit syrup

1/8 oz Campari

2 1/4 oz sparkling wine

1 1/3 oz ml soda water

Garnish

Rosemary sprig and grapefruit zest, for garnish

Glass

Wine glass

Preparation

Add all ingredients to wine glass over cubed ice (squeezing juice out of lemon wedges before adding to glass). Stir to combine the ingredients and chill the drink. Garnish with a long grapefruit zest and rosemary sprig.
