Russian or Polish Vodka, expert advice to make your choice

Vodka is often associated with Russia from where it originated. However, other countries, like Poland, also produce this type of spirits.

For an amateur of this drink, it is interesting to discover the possible differences between Russian and Polish vodka.

Russian or Polish vodka, differences to note

Russian vodka tipcally has a higher sugar and alcohol content. The perfect example is the Russian Standard, which ranks as the most popular premium vodka brand in Russia. As ingredients, we find Siberian wheat and Lake Ladoga water in St Petersburg.

As for Polish vodka, it tends to be much softer. A vodka made from rye and buffalo grass like Zubrowka Bison Grass, is a good example. This ingredient comes from the Bialowieras Forest, whiche brings a particularly sweet and fresh taste.

Different Taste

Furthermore, the taste makes a bid difference. Russian vodka tend to have much flavor on its own, which makes it easy to be drunk alone with ice, while the Polish version can be used in cocktails to enhance the taste of these.
