Three variations of the Cosmopolitan, the cocktail of this summer
So they say that the Cosmopolitan is the cocktail of this summer 2021. Moreover, this May 7 is its official day. We give you three variations of its recipe.
According to Grub Street, this summer will be the summer of the Cosmopolitan cocktail. It’s Carrie Bradshaw’s (Sex and the City) favorite cocktail, and it’s a New York City icon.
Chris Moore, the beverage director at the world’s best bar, Dante, in New York, the Cosmopolitan is a celebratory cocktail. After a year and a half of global pandemic, the cocktail for Moore is synonymous with joy.
Three variations of the Cosmopolitan
Electro Cosmo
22.5 ml of Cointreau
60 ml butterfly pea flower infused Vodka* (60 ml)
22.5 ml of fresh lime juice
7.5 ml of cranberry juice
Preparation: add the ingredients in a cocktail shaker and add ice. Strain through a fine strainer into a martini glass. Garnish with an orange peel.
*Add a teaspoon of dried butterfly pea flower to the vodka.
Cos Glow
22.5 ml Cointreau
60 ml vodka
22.5 ml of lime juice
10 fresh blueberries
Preparation: add the cointreau and cranberries in a shaker tin and crush. Add the rest of the ingredients with ice in the shaker and shake. Strain through a fine strainer into a martini glass and garnish with cranberries on a skewer.
Oranje Cosmopolitan
45 ml Ketel One orange-flavored vodka
15 ml pomegranate juice
A dash of lemon mixture
3 orange slices
Preparation: crush the orange slices, pomegranate juice and lemon in a mixing glass. Add the vodka and shake with ice. Strain into a glass. Garnish with an orange twist or fresh orange slices.
Citroen Cosmopolitan
45 ml Ketel One lemon flavored vodka
22.5 ml of cranberry juice
22.5 ml fresh lemon juice
7.5 ml simple syrup
Lemon twist for garnish
Preparation: combine ingredients in a mixing glass. Shake with ice and strain into a glass. Garnish with lemon twist.
