Gin is a distilled alcoholic beverage that gets its predominant flavor from juniper berries. Gin is also often used as a base spirit. It is used to produce gin-based flavored liqueurs, such as sloe gin. This is traditionally done by adding fruit, flavoring and sugar… but today we’re going to talk about this spirit in mixology instead through multiple gin cocktail recipes.

Even though it’s a very versatile spirit, we’re talking about a summertime staple.

GIN BRAMBLE

An easy and delicious recipe, of British origin. For this cocktail you only need cream of blackberry, the rest of the ingredients are easily available in your pantry. 60 ml of gin, 30 ml of fresh lemon juice, 15 ml of sugar syrup, 15 ml of blackberry cream, ice.

 

GIN FIZZ

You can use any type of gin for this cocktail but the best recommendation is to use a classic “dry gin”, or a fresh and fruity one (elderberry or raspberry). Mix 45 ml of gin, 30 ml of fresh lemon juice, 10 ml of sugar syrup, soda and ice.

GIN MARTINI

A cocktail so simple that all you need is dry vermouth, gin and ice. You can use any type of gin you like until you find your favorite flavor. 50 ml of gin + 15 ml of dry vermouth. Ice.

PINK GIN

A historical cocktail used by ancient sailors as a remedy. In this recipe the gin attenuated the taste of the bitter angostura, used in the nineteenth century as a medicine. This lovely cocktail requires only 45 ml of gin and 3 to 4 drops of Angostura bitters. Use a slice of lemon or grapefruit to garnish the drink.

GIN BUCK

The Gin Buck is a carbonated cocktail made with ginger ale. A quality gin and a quality ginger ale will create a perfect combination. The lemon will add the special touch. Mix 60 ml of gin, 15 ml of fresh lemon juice and premium ginger ale.
