Best New York City bars by bartenders

Finding a bar in New York is very easy. But on the other hand, to find a great one is a challenge. To face it, we called on the expertise of six of the best bartenders in the city.

 

For Chaim Dauermann, the iconic bartender of The Up & Up, New York’s best bars are the International Bar, Seamstress, Subject, Suffolk Arms, Bar Goto, Attaboy and The Roof at Park South.

Allen Katz, owner of the New York Distillation Company, for his part design as best bars Death & Co., Pouring Ribbons, Dear Irving, d.b.a., McSorley’s, The Richardson, Basik and The Shanty.

Jim Kearns, beverage director at Slowly Shirley, prefers in addition to the bar where he works, Long Island Bar, Fort Defiance, The Up & Up, Analogue and Employees Only

Alex Valencia, co-owner of La Contenta chooses as for her, besides her own bar, Pegu Club, Botanic Lab, Casa Mezcal, Back Room and The Wayland.

Genese Debeaux, executive mixologist at Monarch Rooftop offers as best bars Frying Pan, Rock & Reilly’s, Refinery Rooftop, Lovage Rooftop and naturally Monarch Rooftop.

Jillian Vose’s heart goes out to Mother of Pearl. BlackTail, Maison Premiere, Fresh Kills, The Growler, Ulysses. But to Dead Rabbit too, the one that he manages.
